MIR STEKLA’2014 IS THE MAIN EVENT IN THE GLASS INDUSTRY

The 16th edition of International Exhibition for Glass Products, Manufacturing, Processing and Finishing Technology – Mir Stekla’2014 is the most anticipated event for the glass industry specialists. It will run on 4-6 June 2014 at Expocentre Fairgrounds in Moscow.  Mir Stekla, one of the largest international industry events in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe, hits five top international glass industry tradeshows.

This year Expocentre organizers the trade fair together with a new partner – the United National Council of the Glass Industry Enterprises StekloSouz. In the organizers’ opinion this cooperation will ensure a further growth of the show, its effectiveness and importance for glass industry development.

Approved labels of UFI – the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs as well as support from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry testify to a high status of the event, its relevance and significance for the development of Russian and foreign glass markets.

In his welcome address to participants and visitors to the Mir Stekla’2014 International Exhibition President of StekloSouz of Russia Viktor Osipov said, “The Mir Stekla exhibition is a unique platform to showcase research and accomplishments of Russian companies and a launch pad for foreign companies that want to enter the Russian market. Expocentre and StekloSouz have come to a decision to join forces to expand and develop the well established Mir Stekla exhibition. 
I am positive that our cooperation will take Mir Stekla to new heights to meet the growing needs of the industry.”

The exhibition participants will learn about the most advanced ideas and technology in the glass industry from both Russia and abroad. The tradeshow serves to expand direct business contacts, launch production of glass products, and speed up implementation of improved equipment and promising technology.

“Today, Mir Stekla is especially relevant as a great variety of construction glass allows carrying our various design works. The 16th edition of the exhibition proves its importance for both manufacturers and consumers. It is a sign of sustainable and dynamic development of the Russian glass industry, and successful overcoming of difficulties hindering current market relations in this country,” said President of the Union of Design Engineers of Russia Viktor Novoselov.

In 2014 the trade fair increased – its exposition space amounted to 5,700 net sq m. Its location in Pavilion No.2 enabled many companies to expand their stand sites.

Over 240 companies and enterprises from 24 countries will put on display their products at the Mir Stekla’2014 exhibition. Companies from Italy will arrange their national pavilion.

Among the participants in the trade fair there are such well-known foreign companies as Von Ardenne 9 (thin-film technologies for photovoltaics and architectural glass), Domanovsky Production and Trade Plant (Belarus, a largest manufacturer of liquid glass in the CIS countries) and other companies. 

New accomplishments and innovative solutions will by presented by 80 Russian exhibitors, among them Salavatsteklo, Saratovstroysteklo, Caspian Flat Glass, KAMI, Yuta, Meran, Adem, Briniolli (it will demonstrate samples of the first batch of satin finished, patterned frosted and deep patterned chemically etched glass), RuSail (translucent structures) plus many others.

The trade fair subjects constantly change. The present exposition covers the whole cycle of glass production. The tradeshow will display world-class accomplishments: innovative technology, modern tools for glass production and processing; glass application, tools and auxiliary equipment; test and regulating equipment, software; glass transportation and storage; design workshops, research institutes, schools, industry units and associations.

Extraordinary properties of glass is the main emphasis of the exhibition this year: self cleaning glass coating with dual action using natural forces for cleaning, eco-friendly thermal house of glass for Russian climate; warm edge technology and energy-efficient coatings for architectural glass; unique techniques of stained glass making; satin finished, patterned frosted glass and stained glass with deep-patterned chemical etching method used in the interior decoration.

Industry experts will be offered a variety of opportunities to put into practice innovative and creative ideas in decoration of the surroundings.

ArtGlass Salon will demonstrate different art glass techniques. Especially for participation in the ArtGlass Salon we have invited mr. Moti Werzberger whose work with glass in various techniques has an international popularity. We are also presenting you the artwork of Irina Ponomareva and Natalia Zhytomyrskaya, both wizards of stained glass, glass painting, fusing, and lampwork. The ArtStudio MalinoDesign group, masters of artistic glass, using different types of wood, copper and bronze will demonstrate you how to create your own interior and decor, original furniture, custom lighting fixtures for home and garden.

A lot of novelties will be presented in other sections of the exhibition:
energy-efficient glass, translucent structures, warm edge technology, low-emission, multifunctional, solar control glass; glass as a marketing tool - the latest technology and materials for decoration of glass, including glass container; printing on glass; the latest technologies of glass use in architecture, magnetron sputtering systems and technologies of application of energy-saving coating for architectural glass.

Conferences and seminars will be held during the exhibition period. Participating companies will present their products, latest developments and know-how.

The key event of the Mir Stekla’2014 programmeis International Forum on Glass and Modern Technology - the 21st Century. The Forum target is to highlight the current state and promote development of the glass industry, science, business and international cooperation, and train the industry staff.

The Forum programme features a round table discussion on Main Trends in Fighting against Production and Use of Counterfeit Glass Products, International Conference on Issues Concerning Quality of Raw Materials for Glass Industry Enterprises, and business negotiations.

The tradeshow will also feature the 8th Forum of Directors “Furniture as a Business”, master class on Furniture Shop: Techniques of Sales Maximization, workshop on Building up Successful Distribution Network in the Region and a number of round table discussions on relevant topics.
